Flute Juice Productions is a musical entertainment company based  in Orlando, Florida. Our featured artist is GALEN - master Flautist and Lecturer. The company provides music performances and lectures to colleges, universities and other venues around the United States and internationally. Flute Juice Productions has been in existence for almost thirty years and is considered a very successful entertainment company with one of the most popular campus artist in the country - GALEN.

Performance Description

• On A Moment's Notice: A jazz poetry slam. Apart from being a mind stimulating experience, it provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their creative talents by reciting their own compositions with the passionate, melodic sounds of jazz..

• In the Tradition: A lecture/performance. The lecture focuses on the "History of Jazz" which chronicles the music from the turn of the century to present day; or, "Women in Jazz" which highlights the significant contribution of women in jazz. Students are encouraged to participate verbally. During the performance students learn the five pillars of jazz: melody, harmony, rhythm, syncopation and improvisation, and are given a demonstration to how each of these elements influences jazz. They are also invited to 'sit in' with Galen.

• Hit & Split: A noon hour performance. Usually presented in a cafeteria or high traffic area for students. This event if often scheduled from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm or any 90-minute block.
• Tune Up: A workshop for students to study the music of some of the great composers such as Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, and John Coltrane. The students focus on the art of improvisation and given the opportunity to showcase their talents with Galen, which helps sharpen their musical talents.
